By I get asked a lot about how I feel about goatfish since I live in Portland (which is a little far from the ocean). It’s a hard question to answer, since my gut reaction to this type of fish is a combination of disgust and curiosity. I have had a few experiences with this fish, and I can’t say that I’ve ever been disappointed.
I used to live in Portland and would go out on a few fishing trips. I was very impressed with the diversity of the fish and the great variety of fishing techniques. That said, the fish I was most impressed with was a type of perch called goatfish, and I had never seen a goatfish until I moved here.
