The last time I visited a cemetery near me, I had some fun exploring the graves of the old people who passed away. I was amazed at the depth of the dirt and how well the grave markers were kept in shape. The only thing that stands out to me is that they were all over the place.
The depth of the graves and the layout of the tombstones were all different. Not only were the graves and tombstones different, but so were the gravediggers. They were all different. I’d never seen that before.
The story of gravestone engraving might have been known to us before, but the first gravestone I saw in my life was engraved by someone who was buried the day before I was born.
Gravestone engraving was popularized by the late 19th century, when it was used by the American Civil War soldier who was laid to rest on the battlefield. As the Civil War ended and the Union Army retreated, the Union government tried to disinter the Union dead so that they could be reinterred in Union cemeteries. So far, they have failed.
I was just going to suggest they stop drawing gravestones when you’re in the middle of the night. Maybe I’m not yet in the middle of the night, but I’ve seen many such scenes before and I’m not sure that’s much of a problem.
Well, I have to say that Ive seen many such scenes before, but I have no problem with the gravestones drawing. They are not for me and I feel no conflict at all. The only thing I would be concerned about is the ones on the sides of the road.
Grave-drawing is a form of sculpting, which I feel is a nice thing to do. It allows us to shape our own gravestones with our own hands. I would not feel any conflict having the gravestones drawn near me only to let them fall on the side of the road.
I can totally see the attraction to this. Gravestone-drawing is a simple thing to do, yet an important part of our lives. I think it is important to remember that we are in charge of our own bodies, so I would think that we are all allowed to do what we want. At the same time, it is important to remember that we are not responsible for the acts of others. Gravestones are not necessarily meant to serve as memorials.
I remember when I was a child, we had a gravedigger in my neighborhood. He would come every Saturday and, as they say, make his rounds. Well, that was in the late eighties. I remember asking him why he did this. Because he was not responsible for others, and it was his job to keep the roads in order. I told him that I thought that was a terrible idea. He gave me a look that said he didn’t agree with me.
